Fighting Broad Categories Instead of Fighting the Disease Itself The claims are made by SOME medical professionals who practice medicine and are by no means yet perfect, that this or that disease should be FOUGHT, which usually comes with requests for funding from the taxpayer or for fundraising where people gladly empty their pockets in exchange for the joys of what participating in fundraising brings. Their attempt to fight the broad category of illnesses called AIDS is much like fighting "people" when in actuality, one is attempting fight "one criminal in the city of Los Angeles". In the broad category often referred to as HIV/AIDS we have a perplexing, if not completely botched, attempt at defining a disease. Generally the CDC defines AIDS as a category of 20 or so different illnesses. How on earth is one supposed to fight such a broad category without precision? It would be like asking the repairman to fix your car, without telling specifically what kind of car, whether or not it starts, and a myriad of other sub-categories to the broad condition of it's "illness". One day, back in 1984, a man by the name of Gallo, made the bizarre claim that all of the diseases in the category of AIDS were caused by one virus. A press release for the people by the US government's Margret Heckler said it was accurate, even though there were no scientific findings to back it. What is odd, is that previous to this date, each disease in the category had different causes and possible solutions, and what is even more bizarre, is that today, in the year 2005, each of these diseases still have different causes and different possible solutions, yet the flag of HIV/AIDS is waved synonymously with rainbow flags, and sex education, albeit erroneously. Through mass media reporting and public panic and demands of our government, eventually a term was created "HIV/AIDS". Somehow the attempt is being made here to define the condition of AIDS more precisely, yet it fails miserably. All sorts of wild claims of what a "virus" called "HIV" is supposed to do and not do have all been disproven, and all of it's theories have been shot full of holes. Most notably, for anyone with basic common sense can see, is that there is no more finite definition of the disease here in the term "HIV/AIDS". In order to more accurately define what disease or condition an individual may have, and properly attempt at finding a solution, we cannot rely on broad categories, we must define precisely what the individual has. Thus the terminology needs to be changed to Pneumonia/AIDS or Pneumonia Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, or any of the other diseases that are under the term AIDS if one wants to find solutions to the problems of immune deficiency, and completely discard the term HIV/AIDS as it makes no sense what-so-ever, as there cannot possibly be one cause to a broad category of illnesses of which all have different causes.
