| Extreme ActivismAn AIDS overactivist bought the domain "christinemaggiore.com" specifically to attempt to put an end to her views regarding alternative theories in the fight against AIDS and HIV. His exaggerated claims against her included that she "murdered her own child" by not having her daughter tested for HIV, and thus not providing medications for AIDS, even though her child never showed any symptoms of AIDS or any other disease condition other than an occasional typical childhood condition like a cold or ear infection. You would think that people would rally together, but no, in this case, he claimed that everything the popular author and alternative AIDS thinker would stand for was horrific. His use of her name in this way opens himself up for libel. Supporters of Christine were able to figure out the domain name registrant, even though he had the domain registered by "proxy" so that his name would not be public. They contacted the registrar, GoDaddy.com, and soon after this basically blank blue screen replaced the prior slanderous one that called for everyone to join in the fight to stop Christine. (print in white is our comments added). As of today 9/9/06, the registrar has simply allowed the domain to indicate a "parked" page at GoDaddy.com. There are many thousands of people who say Christine Maggiore and her organization called "Alive and Well" has helped them greatly. If we were in oppressive countries we might not see this kind of quick response from a registrar. In the USA, where this occured, we have a balance of laws that protect people from slander and thus this situation was resolved (on the most part) rather quickly. We can thank everyone that is involved in such protections from the president to those in other areas of public office for such personal protections from such extreme activism.
