white rainbow ribbon "White is the universal symbol of surrender."
application #1 White signifies surrender & peaceful methods of healing, not ones that are based on war. We use this symbol especially to bring attention to a non-violent approach to solving the world's AIDS crisis, that is, if there even is one as recently it was declared the AIDS crisis was over, and if a crisis is over, there is nothing to fight. One of these applications in particular refers to NOT using AIDS drugs which bombard innocent cells causing their death. This leads us to finding holistic and natural methods of healing as compared to fighting, that allow and encourage and support the cells of the body to regenerate and replicate peacefully, moving out the "invaders" of whatever type. The red ribbon is wonderful, and has a lot of symbolism that is good, honorable. I too have lost loved ones to HIV/AIDS so please understand that I too am interested in seeing people be well, but I don't fight for a cure, or wage war on anything when it comes to the body. The WAR on AIDS is not a good "way to bring peace". Neither is education on "how to build and maintain fortresses around what was always free & safe sexual expression" as a way to be healthy. END THE WAR. LEARN TO SUBMIT TO PEACEFUL METHODOLOGIES.
